Jaffa is one of my favourite places in Israel (and perhaps the world). I've been spending time here since my 20s and now, living 'up the street,' (a mere 40 minutes walk along the beach from my home) I'm lucky to be able to wander its streets and enjoy its nightlife on a regular basis.
Jaffa holds so much interest both for first-time visitors and locals - winding alleyways, the ancient port, a treasure-trove of a flea market, and an artists's quarter for a start. There's also a growing cafe and bar scene, perfect for people-watching by day and partying at night. No wonder the area has undergone enormous gentrification in the past few years..
In coming posts, I'll be writing about different aspects of this Levantine city but, for now, here are a few of the shots I've taken on my endless wanderings there..
Window shutters...
Colourful chairs stacked high...
Old gramophone for sale in the flea market...
Red-tiled rooftops...
